Hernando County contains the cities of Brooksville and Weeki Wachee and the areas of Spring Hill and Royal Highlands. Hernando County's population is still low compared to counties south and east of us which encompass the cities of Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Orlando.

In working with clients, one of the first things I ask retirees as well as non-retirees is:

"What do you like to do?    Do you golf, fish, bicycle, swim, walk, play tennis, or what?

It is vitally important for me to know more about you, so I can recommend the type of community which would be your best choice for a place to live. Because the first rule in Real Estate is still: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!  Once you own a house, you can make all kinds of modifications to it but the location is fixed and permanent.

Having lived in this area for 17 years, I possess a high level of knowledge regarding all the various communities within the Hernando County, Brooksville, Spring Hill and Weeki Wachee areas.

My next question is generally:  "Do you want a Gated or Non-gated community?"

Most folks give me an answer immediately but often we need to do some research and fact-finding before arriving at a decision. Moving to a new residence is expensive, so we want you to get it right in the first place. We strive to help you avoid future "Buyers' Remorse" due to a lack of adequate information in the present.

Other important considerations revolve around your proximity to roads, highways, toll roads and other arteries which may be a necessary part of your daily life. If you will be driving to the Tampa. St. Petersburg areas very often, you would save a lot of time and gasoline by living near the Suncoast Parkway. If boating, fishing or going to the beach are things you love to do often, you will want to live in the western part of Hernando County since the western border of this county is the Gulf of Mexico. If you will have a need to use I-75 on a regular basis, you may prefer to live on the eastern side of Hernando County.

We would be glad to discuss all these factors with you to give you some food for thought regarding your final decision on the community in which you wish to settle.
