Golf Community Categories:
1. Non-gated: either Private-Membership or Public Courses where your property can be adjacent to the Golf Course.
2. "Gated" Golf Course communities have streets which are either public or privately owned by the residents. Many gated communities allow their residents to have their own golf carts which can be driven to and from the golf courses and other amenities such as restaurants, driving ranges, tennis courts, pools, clubhouses, etc.
3. Other communities, gated or not, require that golfers rent a cart for each round of golf.
Advantages of owning your golf cart:
1. It's cost effective, and for many people substitutes as a second "car" when traveling around the community.
2. Your clubs and other personal property remain in your cart ready for your immediate use.
3. Certain communities allow use of their golf courses during non-prime times so you can go out and play less than a full round of golf at your leisure.
